Senbis Polymer Innovations is a privately-owned company that supports its customers with applied polymer research. The organization has over 25 years of experience in polymer research with a specialization in the development of high-end applications of (bio)polymers in the shape of:
- (multifilament) yarns
- monofilaments (e.g. for 3D-printing)
- non-wovens
- Films and foils
Senbis Polymer Innovation consist of three main pillars:
- Consultancy and research: Senbis has a unique team of experienced professionals that help its customers solving their polymer challenges. As part of the consultancy and research pillars, Senbis professionals assist on site, help select the right material for the customers application and optimize polymers. A special focus lies on the development of 3D printing materials, where Senbis has a strong research cooperation with BASF.
- Analysis and equipment: Senbis owns a fully equipped polymer laboratory, in which it offers any type of physical and mechanical evaluation of polymeric materials. Thermal analysis, microscopy, and rheological investigations are examples of such analyses. Many of Senbis’ customers use the service for their production quality control.
- Pilot Plant and Specialty Products: In Senbis’ pilot plant facilities specialty yarns and monofilament products are produced. An example of such a product is a fully compostable PLA yarn or specialty fibers for the security paper industry. Additionally, Senbis offers its capacities to customers for research or proof-of-concept purposes. The pilot plant facilities can be categorized as following:
- Spinning (several machines available)
- Drawing
- Extrusion
- Polymerization (autoclave)
- Drying (of polymers) and SSP
