Sustainable solutions for the plastic industry

Sustainable Polymer Innovation Cluster

Technology, expertise and polymer products

Are you interested in making your plastic products more sustainable? The Sustainable Polymer Innovation Cluster (SPIC) is a cluster of companies and universities in the Netherlands that offer technology, expertise and products to help achieve that goal. The cluster offers state-of-the-art equipment and services for developing  and up-scaling new biobased or recycled plastics and products thereof.  On this website you can find which services and facilities are offered to the market by the cluster partners.

Last but not least, SPIC-Emmen represents the plastic cluster within Chemport Europe, which is one of the leading ecosystems for biobased chemistry.

All scales under one roof

A great strength of the cluster is the wide range of available key technologies surrounding polymers. The technologies vary from polymerization and post condensation to fibers, injection moulding, compounding and 3D printing.

For each technology there are different scales available. Even per scale there might be a great variety of equipment and services available. The house below illustrates which technologies are offered. You can use it to navigate through the website and get more detailed information of options for these technologies at the cluster
