Post condensation

During post condensation, the polymer chain lengths are increased by heat in the absence of oxygen and water through vacuum. This cleans the polymers from contamination and enhances the mechanical and rheological properties of the polymer which is required for injection blow molding or extruding.
The post-condensation of polyamide and polyesters is an effective process to gain back valuable primary material and is thus commonly used as a recycling technique. It is also widely applied in industrial manufacture of bottle-grade PET, films, and superior industrial fibers.

Within the SPIC network post condensation is offered on specially designed laboratory scale for a few grams and also for a few kilograms.
On a pilot plant scale, tumble dryer of 60 kg and 120 kg are available.

For the production scale, Morssinkhof offers SSP services in tumble dryers of 7 MT.
The company Cumapol offers a continuous SSP line at which batch sizes need to be at least 100 MT.
