Stereolithography (SLA) is a technology that converts liquid materials into solid parts, layer by layer, by selectively curing them using a (UV) light source in a process called photopolymerization. The Formlabs Form 2 delivers high resolution 3D printed parts using thermoset resins. The Form 2 is equipped with an integrated resin system, which provides automated resin refill. In addition, it enables 3rd party resins in open mode.
A peel mechanism, wiper, and heated resin tank creates a consistent environment and reliable print process. Build volume of the Form 2 is 145 x 145 x 175 mm. The Form 2 works with PreForm software, used to set the layer thickness (25-100 micron), the rotation of the object, support structures, etc. The Form 2 has an extensive range of resins, from different standard resins to engineering and dental resins.
Post-treatment of the printed parts is performed by washing and curing. With the Form Wash, parts are precisely agitated with IPA within 15 minutes, getting every nook and cranny perfectly clean. Once washing completes, Form Wash automatically lifts parts out of the IPA, avoiding over-soaked, warped prints.
The Form Cure is designed to optimize material properties, and uses 405 nm UV LEDs for curing. An advanced heating system precisely controls curing temperatures up to 80° C. Once time is up, parts are fully cured. The Form Cure provides reliable, professional post-curing.
