The Berstorff compounding system is a twin-screw extruder with a screw diameter of 26 mm. The screw can be heated in 9 zones up to 350 ° C, and is water cooled. The material feed is done by a Brabender dosing installation. Via a sidefeeder installation, various materials can be added. The vacuum unit (Busch VL0030) ensures degassing of the material. The screen changer (Nordson EM15353) is used to filter contaminations. The extruded filaments are cooled in a water tank with a length of 2 m. After drying (Stomach SE 100-2), the materials is granulated with a granulator (Maag Primo 60).
