The Ultimaker 2 is equipped with a single Bowden extruder, meaning the extruder is not directly attached to the hot end. Standard filament size for the Ultimaker 2 is 2.85 mm. The nozzle reaches temperatures from 180 °C up to 260 °C, and the heated bed from 50 °C up to 100 °C. When printing with ABS, a closed environment is preferred to eliminate warping. Hence, a Perspex hood is present. The build volume of the Ultimaker 2 is 223 x 223 x 205 mm and its print speed is limited between 30 mm/s and 300 mm/s. The Ultimaker 2 runs on Cura software, and accepts .stl or .obj file types.
